I’d walk a mile for…the passion that completes me!!

Walking a mile is a symbol of the length that one is prepared to go in pursuit of that something with sincerity and dedication. It is for something that one truly believes in and feels passionately about.

People are sometimes defined by the things that they hold close to their heart. People often are identified by the passion, the love in their life, the interest that they have and the sacrifices that they’ll be willing to make to protect the one that he treasures. One truly cannot treasure something unless one feels passionately about them.

Many are identified by the extend to which, he or she is willing to push himself or herself to gain, accomplish, realize or even satiate that particular passion that he or she holds dear. It could be one of many things. It could be something materialistic, something emotionally or physically very dear, or it could even be a feeling that one needs to go out and feel once in a while to preserve the zest that he has for life.

While most people are lucky enough to have a passion that will make them walk a proverbial mile to attain, but yet there are some who don’t have that something special they hold so close that will make them try so hard to achieve.

There are people who need inspiration to go on in life, while others are happy as things stands now and would not like to change anything. But for the less fortunate, this passion and hunger for something allows them to carry on with their daily life which otherwise will be too monotonous to hold their interest for long.

Walking a mile could mean so many things for so many people. For some it is the hardship that one needs to endure to attain the ultimate aim that they have set out to achieve and the satisfaction that makes all the effort worth while.

For some it could be the sacrifice that one endures to realize the goal that is so important. It could also mean doing the things that frightens them everyday and overcoming the feeling that comes with overcoming them.

It could also mean the long hours that one slogged to see the one smile on that someone special. The mile could also be a symbol of all that you will be prepared to put on the line to make sure that nothing stands between you and your passion.

I dreamt I was in love again-----

I dreamt I was in love again, and life couldn’t get any better or at least that was what I thought. After having been heartbroken in the very recent past I wasn’t prepared for a commitment this early on in my life as a single.

It wasn’t long ago that I had met Hari. It was during a Diwali homecoming at a friends place that I first met him. He seemed descent enough and he drew my attention instantly as he was someone who was entertaining the entire guest who had come to the occasion. He had some qualities that will attract people to him quite easily.

Soon we began chatting and one thing let to the other. Although I wanted to resist, we ended up meeting and one thing lead to the other. It was then that I told him about Ajay, with whom I had serious relationship for some years. It was as if he was the antithesis of how Ajay was. Ajay was quieter and inquisitive, while Hari was an extrovert and open and wasn’t too probing on question he felt I was uncomfortable answering.

May be that’s the thing that attracted me to him at first. Soon I began to tell him about Ajay and the serious relationship that we shared and how committed we both were to this relationship. I also told him about how we had separated after a serious altercation which resulted in a messy break up.

Things were going just fine until I found out that Hari had been lying to me all along. He knew exactly what had transpired in my life leading up to our meeting at the party. What made it worse that he told me that he was a close confidant of Hari.

I felt completely cheated. What made the feeling worse was the fact that, I had just started to develop feelings for him and it was the night before Hari made it known that he has been lying to me all this while that I had dreamt of a future with him filled with happiness and merriment.

I got a feeling that the whole world was conspiring against me to make my life miserable. It seemed to me that things couldn’t possibly get any worse for me.

I broke off all means of communication that I had with him. Soon a month past by and Hari tried all means to contact me but I resisted all his attempts.

It was now approaching New Year, and I got an unexpected call. I couldn’t believe it, but it was Ajay. I didn’t know what to say. He did all the talking. Firstly he said what I expected; he said how he has been missing me and how unlucky he felt by losing me. Then he said something unexpected. He spoke about Hari. He said it was Hari who told him about their relationship and had even warned him about hurting her again when he came to know that I was trying to come back into my life.

He also revealed to Ajay that he was deeply in love with her and in due course was planning on proposing to her. She started to feel like the world starting to crumble around her. Ajay soon hanged up after wising her a good future with Hari.

Sneha felt completely crestfallen. She wondered if it was too late to patch things up with Ajay and whether she had lost her last opportunity at true love. She couldn’t sleep that night, and through the entire night she kept thinking about Hari and their future again. She was falling in love with Hari all over again in a beautiful dream that she had. But she would suddenly wake up with a jolt when she recollects the happenings of the last month and the call from Ajay last night. Just before her mind had run her ragged, she heard a noise from the street beneath her window and there stood Hari with a big sorry sign, a bouquet of flowers shaped like a heart. She couldn’t believe her eyes. They both fell into each others arms in a beautiful embrace. It was beautiful. The coming New Year was one in a long line of beautiful years that were to follow for them.

A steeping stone to a revolution

I know I am going to die a loser's death ,
that won't change the stretch of my deeds.
This may not create a wave of change,
but it will surely make you free.
I and my friends are getting together
no storm can stir their feets.
They are moving with their heads high
with a passion of greatness indeed.
They too are lost and wish to decide
the world they are living in.
Whether its wrong or is it cursed
and make some changes in font
our beginning stone is free Tibet
for we know its a hard task.
It will take aeon to fulfill
but we'll wait with our hopes alight
we need to wake up to a ugly face
sooner or later, no power was all just
will never be.
This power is ruthless, it won't stagger a bit
in strangulating your aspirations, your dreams and freedom
lets march on with precious self and thoughts
to defeat this monstrous beast!

My Rendezvous with Reason

The best part about thinking is that there is no boundary, no scrutiny and no reprisal of any sort. The one thing that connects all living things is its undeniable spirit of thinking, making use of a flow that has no course to turn, no route to follow. We are present and accorded with certain level of familiarity because of our connectivity to losing history. History is debatable and ensures high drama and even melancholy, nonetheless. History is full of personalities so diverse and so magnetic that we often end up cursing the timing of our existence. These greats are not great because they are oblivious of our judgment. They are handed superiority because they conquered their own space of time and measures.

And who wouldn't like to cross the Rubicon and defy the threshold of time. Who wouldn't wish to sit calm down and have a rendezvous with some of the finest figures we know and would like to know better?

There are three eminent figures I would like to have a chat with. These are Rasputin, Jesus Christ and Mohammad. The reason for the choice of each of this personality is interesting because all of the personalities are cloud in a distinct fog of vagueness and ambiguity. I can't judge any of these figures without getting in to the skin of their exterior and internal turbulence. They all faced a unique distraught in their later life, a mist so thin to overcome. The reason why I have chosen these three fine individual is not answerable because the choice was limited to three. Or else there would have been many a great names attached too. Anyways, each personality here is diverse and each is endowed with a prodigious quality of sustaining against odds.

The first one is Rasputin; I want this man on my dinner arrangement because of the sheer clout that this man wore that commanded reasoning but no virtual singular answer. I would like to interrogate how he could manage with such peculiar subtlety when it was confounded that he was satanic at one point of time. May be, his political conquest doesn't interest me much as much as his sexual prowess and masculine endowment. I understand the basic fact that this inquisition raises the question of vulgarity but that's what legends are made of, I guess. I would ask him what made him go so easy even with a blessed nun and don't ask about what he could do with a damsel in tow! He was a monk, at least that's what everyone else believed. He was precarious, no doubt, he was hardly gentle. But I would like to ask him how he could foresee the monarch even through the thick blizzards of Siberia. I would like to ask him whether he was really in love with Queen Alexandria. I would like to question every aspect of his being, every facets of his personality which is still debatable to open table. There is no doubt that Rasputin was the foremost in the annals of history when it turned towards the twentieth century, to make a long lasting change on not only Russia but eventually to the world through the face of concluding World Wars. He can never be called a good man and thankfully, he never wanted to be called that way by the coming generation. He was out there just to overcome his guilt of not being able to overcome the temptation of sin by overwhelmingly embracing it more and more. He was nothing more than a black robed monk when he set his foot onto the soil of St. Petersburg. He was not a healer of any kind, though he made some of his protégés deem him that way. My chat will be full discomforting inquiries that would embarrass him but I'm sure he would be able to face off such travesty with ease, given his repertoire of staying calm even while facing the eyes of death. If legends are to be believed, it got so difficult of assassinate him that even poison embedded in cake couldn't muster itself against a soulless monk like him. The British agents couldn't give an exact explanation as to why this attempt got distraught! He was killed at last, they say, by drowning in a river, and in spite of the cold icy water, when they retrieved the body; they found the body, to their awe, with hands stuck out at the ice, as if trying to overcome the hatchet of death. It would be quite a site to see those looming eyes while facing my stringent queries!

The second personality on my list is Jesus Christ. The man whose birth defined time and chronicles is sure to be exuding some charm of enigmatic coruscation. My first question to this bright soul would be how did you gathered your trust in the Almighty and faced such brutality. I can't imagine the pangs and stigmata of being on the other side of rope and asking the mass to come over to your side. I'm still ill-informed in trying to contemplate it either as wisdom or coincidence. The very picture of this man on a cross is exhilarating and reminds of sacrifice for unknown and even unjust. Jesus Christ was literally the most extraordinary thing to happen to humanity. He was nonetheless a loser then when he was along with hardly two dozen of faithful and thinking of overruling statistics. He carried the faith of not only humans but even God, I guess. So that would surely make this conversation a lot more intriguing and enlightening.

The third target is Prophet Mohammed and this man, a merchant by profession could easily go down as the most unassuming person ever. An uneducated man with hardly a knack of eloquence, no man management skill of any sort could move seep into the psyche of every human being ever born on Arabian Desert and then slowly moving to the other parts of the globe with incessant success. This man is a phoenix of medieval world. He may be controversial but still glitters bright among others.

Review of Yuva - A refreshing new entrant in Publication.

This piece is the my attempt of reviewing a new publication, which was recently turned into a daily by the name of 'Yuva'. The tabloid priced at a price of 1 Rs.(Indian) is easily worth every paisa.

I heard the name through a friend, Kranti, who recommend this publication. And as luck would have it, I came across the publication neat Bandra Station on my way to work that day itself. I, who have been reading Mumbai Mirror and MidDay for the past few weeks was deeply unhappy with the content of the two respective, arguably renowned publication.

The first thing that hit me was the sheer number of stories that it contained along with the right mix of graphics and pictures that gave it a complete look. Although the stories was more local than than national or international, it certainly made for a good read and was ideal for a rail commuter like me. The 45 minutes that I was reading the paper passed off in a jiffy and I still wasn't through.

My only hope is that the good start that it has made looking at the quality of work won't have to be comprised by the financial and political pressures like many of its predecessors did.

Although there a lot of positives, I would also like to point out that there is still room for improvements. The writing standard, if I can call it that without being rude can be improved, also the creative element in the articles, especially feature articles could be used more effectively to entice the more creatively inclined. But again, as a new publication it will come with time.

I would also have appreciated more sports news, again that is my personal view. I hope the paper will cover the non-traditional sports.

It is my sincere hope that the paper will carve out a niche for itself in the highly competitive print market, where the margins are really low. I also hope that I will have good things to say about the paper when I revisit and hopefully update this piece in my blog.

As for now, Kudos to the team of Yuva, we are sure a lot about them in the neat future.
