Superpowers that make for marketing superheroes...

Superpowers that make for marketing superheroes...

- A creative and innovative piece of content, whether static or video, gives you the power to achieve greater reach, engagement, and conversion. Don’t create ads just to spend money - create a unique proposition with a clear and interesting message that packs a punch and brings the evil of surplus spend to heel.

- A team of consistent writers, visualisers, designers, marketers, data collators, and analysts makes them a true team of Avengers. Don’t make the mistake of hiring a manager who’s expected to have all the talents. Instead, let them work with a team to bring a shared vision to fruition rather than expecting miracles. Rational decision-making is your skill to thrill and assemble progress.

- Tell your story, but also convey what the audience needs and what will help them. Design and post ads, but focus on impactful content to smash the dullness of repetition and "Hulk up" your credibility.

- Taking the time to understand your clients and their nuances will help you "iron up" your approach, giving you the "Stark" perspective that creates the perfect synergy of planning, execution, analysis, and improvement.

- The superpower of patience is crucial in SEO. There’s a reason it works—but expecting quick results disrupts the sacred timeline of progress and can hinder your ultimate goal.

- A great story is vital for connection, but make sure it feels genuine and isn’t far-fetched. The story is the "Thor" of your essence, but guard against the "Loki" of imprecise or inauthentic content.

Find your superpower and become the success. No need to feel Dr. Strange about it.

One-Man Marketing Team: A Gamble That Won't Pay Off

I should know - I started as one. My journey began with content creation and led me through corporate communication, setting up a design team, expanding into social media and digital ads, corporate graphic designs, brand building, strategic consulting, performance marketing, and back to content again.

Each phase required adapting to a new age of data-driven content and decision-making. This professional crescendo, spanning
over two decades, has been both rewarding and humbling.

So, if you’re in your 20s just starting out, a seasoned entrepreneur, a startup guru, a tech evangelist, a marketing Einstein, or a business magnate aiming to master the digital communication landscape, the goal remains the same: to build, adapt, transform, and improve. Be prepared to develop a skill that stands alone among the best.

Once mastered, use that expertise to collaborate. Recognize talent that surpasses yours, and then trust them to do their job. Supervise or guide, but focus on developing teams that can transform a vision into measurable results, generating emotional cues of success through recommendations, praise, and recognition.

When I started from a content perspective, I quickly realized that execution wasn’t polished enough. Either I or the partner artist was missing a beat. When developing a team, my co-founder and I began with freshers who could share a vision - freshers with raw talent who could imagine what was possible by doubting the routines that had become commonplace.

Routines may seem easy, but when they become templates of repetition, they quickly grow dull. It took time, but the lessons learned were unparalleled. No one could have prepared me better for the future. Longevity is a testament to adaptability and a forward-looking urge to stand out.

As we expanded into other services, we banked on the skills present around us, threading processes and teamwork together. Every team was interlinked to work better. As things stand today, changes are more dynamic than ever. Yet, they still don’t feel as daunting as that first step - building and managing a myriad of services and the skilled personnel to make it happen.

Your path to the top will be winding, with occasional backsteps to recalibrate. Be a master of a particular skill, but remain open to sharing your vision with others. Let them work their magic. Put pathways in place to reach the goal. With systems, human ingenuity, and passion in sync, the stage is yours to shine.

You can do it alone, perhaps. But together, you just might create a dynasty of overperformance. All the best - you’ve got this.

Excuse them these and help build a sporting culture in India

The sugar in a savory doesn't change or deviate any particular sort,

If a budding sportsperson skips a function to compete in a sport.

The love doesn't shrink from the heart of your kin,
Perhaps she or he is practicing a new mystery spin.

Excuse the budding sporting great for staying away from a picnic,
It will be more useful for them to develop their unperfected technique.

Don’t judge them on the basis they missed so many click,
Their choice today could result in a gold-winning drag-flick.

Don’t berate parents who denied permission for their ward to stay up late,
It could just be there is an important diet to follow or a new regime on their plate.

Perhaps it is not possible to come and attend every group call that came,
Allow them their absence to may be use to perfect their misfiring aim.

I know you are let down that they were not able to celebrate your promotion,
Maybe it is a sign that the last loss hurt and practicing to improve with devotion.

It might be a tragedy that they once again missed your latest sunday brunch,
Or their defence was breached and the result was decided by the last punch.

Maybe they let you down and didn't come personally to return what was borrowed,
Ignore their tardiness as they were busy revisiting the video of when they last throwed.

They must be feeling bitter when they missed visiting you when you were sick,
They must have forgotten in their pursuit to bring glory with a better roundhouse kick.

When you are cheering and rooting for their most elusive medal,
There are many challenges and pitfalls they had to smartly hurdle.

There have been times when they have arrived oh so late,
Slipping and sliding nonetheless, they were honing their ski skate.

There is a reason they consistently miss all the well-planned fun,
Just pardon them as their coach asked a lap more of swim or run.

All the time they look exhausted in their rush to arrive, leave in a hustle, It will all be worth it when you watch and beam in pride when they wrestle.

They indeed may reply in monosyllables as if being Groot,
Some mental visualization and resolve is important when they shoot

To the teachers, I know they missed some of their classes & lecture,
Do allow them their nots for the sake of the larger sporty picture.

Maybe the lack of sleep from the travel became too hard to hide,
Just could be the recovery from the velodrome drill was a tough ride.

There is no telling how our story will continue forward hence,
As a society, we have a role too, and can’t sit on the fence.

Not every potential, talent, or skill will translate to results in every case,
There is more work to embrace to finish fast in this grueling race.

Complainants assemble to quarrel, blame, and curse like bees in a hive,
Let us not jump to conclusions and accept the work needed before the dive.

Remember success is a marathon and not a sprint,
Every win is precious, let alone winning rows that eventually didnt.

There are many barriers to overcome and more to straddle,
It isn't a quick smash but needs for us to rally with every paddle.

Harsh are those who expect the losers to pitifully groveling,
Not everyone has the ability, support, or passion like the hero with a javelin.

Pass this message in words or visuals to every relative, laws, and uncle,
This is a long journey, so pick up your bat, shoes, gloves, etc, for the next sporting cycle.

As unless there is a major departure and a desire for a shift,
We might languish in the average and won't see our medal tally lift.

How India's Path to Greater Olympic Glory Is Long But Exciting

Indian athletes can learn much from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean success, both from  a performance and suitability point of view. We have competed with China in badminton and, in some cases, have stolen their thunder or at least tapered it. From a physical standpoint, the smaller, leaner, and, in most cases, similar height means India can compete in several sports where these physical traits are a plus.

A case in point is table tennis, where India has underperformed, but recent performances give us hope for a better future. Sports like diving, shooting, weightlifting, martial arts, and gymnastics, where these countries dominate, offer pathways for India to grow its medal count in the future.

With cricket joining the Olympics in 2028, one medal can be banked upon for some Olympics to come. Gymnastics is another sport that India can work on, with flexibility, strength, and discipline all packed in a compact frame, serving as a pedestal we should aspire to.

India has underperformed in shooting, but by providing calmness and big-match temperament, we can overcome the last hurdle we seem to fall short of. With an improving economy, better nutrition, surging sports attention, and sports as a source of livelihood and glory, the Indian sporting scene is only going to thrive from now on. It is only a matter of when.

These sports with the most medals in the Olympics should be our aim:

  • Athletics (48 medals): Athletics is of prime importance, with many examples to inspire us. Given our varied demography, features, and natural abilities, India can continue to scale the medal count in athletics.
  • Swimming (37 medals): The atrocious or non-existent record in swimming must be addressed. With India having one of the biggest coastlines, along with immeasurable rivers and river systems, India’s arrival on the world stage in swimming is only fair. This should be a focus to make a dent in the swimming arena dominated by a few countries.
  • Judo amp; Shooting (15 medals): With size and girth not amounting to much, for the most part, judo and shooting must yield a minimum haul. With the potential to rise rapidly if resources and the right training are provided, these sports could become key medal contributors.
  • Artistic Gymnastics amp; Rowing (14 medals): With a wealth of geographic diversity and a skill pool, artistic gymnastics and rowing have immense hope. A school programme and scholarships to centres of excellence in India and abroad are a must for success to slowly usher in. Rowing, especially considering its cultural and traditional place in various parts of India, from Kerala backwaters to the Brahmaputra valley, holds significant promise.
  • Boxing (13 medals): While boxing has bagged medals for India, with heroes and a rich pedigree, quality coaches, enhanced diet, training, and exposure, India can become a boxing giant like Cuba, with medium funds but a vision of excellence.
  • Fencing, Track Cycling amp; Freestyle Wrestling (12 medals): Fencing, though currently restricted by cost, still has its upside. Track cycling has immense promise as it is easy to start. With the right infrastructure and training, India can prosper, especially if racing tracks and velodromes are constructed and made accessible. Freestyle wrestling, particularly in states like Haryana, Punjab, and the Northeast, offers unparalleled talent and can strive to create a Dagestan-like wrestling hub.
  • Sailing, Weightlifting, and Canoe Sprint (10 medals): Sailing, though not a traditional sport, will grow in popularity. Weightlifting, where China dominates, should be a priority area for India. Canoe sprint reminds us of Kerala’s snakeboat races, where talent abounds. With the right incentives, India can drive on here too.
  • Other Sports: Diving, Taekwondo (8 medals each), Canoe Slalom, Equestrian, and Greco-Roman wrestling (6 medals each): These sports have significant opportunities to tap into. The Indian Olympic Committee should nurture and develop roadmaps for young athletes to give their best.

With major sporting nations and regions like the USA, Europe, Russia, Australia, China, Japan, and the UK dominating the Olympic medal tally, India currently sits at only 37 medals. However, with the right strategies, this could change, leading to more shared medals and increased competition. This will ensure that medals are earned rather than assured, making the sporting story very interesting in the future.

By ramping up investment, support, information, facilities, and competition, sports can enter the main stage of conversation in India, shifting from mere entertainment and patriotism to viable career choices, along with being areas of investment and marketing. This will help India be recognised as a sporting nation, impacting soft power portrayal, boosting morale, and promoting fitness across the country. Without this dedicated approach, India risks drifting towards the bottom rather than surging towards China.

With the USA, Russia (USSR), Australia, UK, United States (USA) with 2,629, Russia (RUS) with 1624, Germany (GER) with 1386, Great Britain (GBR) with 916, China (CHN) with 636, France (FRA) with 751, Italy (ITA) with 618, Hungary (HUN) with 511, Japan (JPN) with 497, and Australia (AUS) with a total of 164 medals at the Olympics, the task is monumental but never impossible. They need more competition with India, currently at only 37.

By nurturing the interest or developing them so India can be a contender and young ambitious sportspersons of the present and future are given direction to excel and set an example to fill themselves and the country with glory is the ideal way ahead. So like you, I am filled with more hope than pessimism.
