Love Gone Wrong

Wounds can heal in a matter of time,

Some wounds go deep yet seem so benign.

It's easy to trust and make someone everyone,

But beware it could be a double edged sword just missing the shine.

Trust is something that has to be earned,

Don’t let it be savored by the unworthy soul.

Before you pledge your allegiance to a cause or a thing,

Make sure you balance the pain and question your goal.

Respect is the founding stone of a relationship,

Make sure it's present and stands the test of time.

Just like a poem is judged by what emotion it chimes,

Likewise in love it's not dependent on how beautifully the word rhyme.

A relation could deceive after a promise of a wonderful story,

Soon you could emerge from it cursing and sorry.

In the end time will prove to be the real teacher,

Don’t waste your time and consider yourself the all-knowing preacher.

Soon you’ll regret the day that you fell in love,

And begin to question love and forget what it is all about,

So my friend before you embark on this divine quest,

Make sure that you are sure about the one, and leave not a single doubt!

By My Side - JVVSK

Everyday is beautiful at the thought of her by my side,

No day is complete without seeing the twinkle in her eye,

This is the truth of my life no matter how hard I say otherwise.

If only I can hold on to her forever,

If destiny can forego death and keep us together,

It will lose all inhibition and proclaim myself a true believer.

If it's divinity that gave us strength to overcome all fear

If it’s divine intervention that made us love,

I would accept miracles keep spirituality and god indeed very near.

If we are to be separated by cruelty of fate,

And if our love is opposed by cruel manipulations,

There will emerge a fury borne of pure hate.

It is the trust that has brought us together,

I will stand by you and fight off all threats from any war monger.

Inspired by love we’ll overcome all grief and with time emerge much stronger.

Our love was the start of something beautiful,

Blossoming with time and gaining strength at every turn,

Soon it will conquer all hatred and will turn truly blissful.

My hope is all of you find the kind of love like I found! Cheers!

A Sneak Peek at Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd are an English progressive rock band that initially earned recognition for their psychedelic or space rock music, and, as they evolved, for their progressive rock music. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative cover art, and elaborate live shows. One of rock music's most successful acts, the group have sold over 200 million albums worldwide, including 74.5 million albums in the United States alone.

Pink Floyd had moderate mainstream success and were one of the most popular bands in the London underground music scene in the late 1960s as a psychedelic band led by Syd Barrett; however, Barrett's erratic behaviour eventually forced his colleagues to replace him with guitarist and singer David Gilmour. After Barrett's departure, singer and bass player Roger Waters gradually became the dominant and driving force in the mid-1970s, until his eventual departure from the group in 1985. The band recorded several albums, achieving worldwide success with The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), and The Wall (1979). In 1985, Waters declared Pink Floyd "a spent force", but the remaining members, led by Gilmour, continued recording and touring under the name Pink Floyd. Although they were unsuccessfully sued by Waters for rights to the name, they again enjoyed worldwide success with A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994). Eventually they reached a settlement out of court with Waters allowing them use of the name.

Waters performed with the band for the first time in 24 years on July 2, 2005 at the London Live 8 concert.

Hopefull

I ain't no killing no one,

I ain't destroying lives,

All I'm doing is trying my best,

To listen to the words of my mind.

Pens down to paint the picture of words

and poems arise from crumbled dust

I don't care for the richness or lure

definite to time, illogical views.

World is going to end, it always do

Sometime sooner, sometimes doom

Whatever in between has to come and go.

Kissed and spat on the face of truth

Love do occur in the mist of vague thoughts

Unexplained reason and unexplained words.

Terrible is the loser of faith

Loser of faith and loser of mate.

Friends creep to the ending line

And show the duality of unkind wine

Dwindling hope leaves me insane

And hope is the last straw to abandon.

Now Cricket In North Korea!

By Richard Spencer in Beijing

North Korea is to host its first cricket tournament, with an English team taking on the home state's finest in Pyongyang next week.

The three visiting teams for the Twenty20 tournament will be largely expatriates from England, Australia, South Africa and Holland who are based in Shanghai.

The North Korean side will be boosted by staff from the Indian and Pakistani embassies.

The tournament was planned by Bryan Clark, a British employee of the logistics firm DHL, which has an office in Pyongyang, and the Shanghai Cricket Club, which has been leading attempts to develop the game in China.

There is now a cricket league in Shanghai and it includes teams from the city's leading universities.

Ainsley Mann, who oversees development for the Shanghai club, said North Korea seemed like a challenge.

"We were also running out of new venues to play," said Mr Mann, who runs Coca-Cola's bottling operations in China.

The games will be played in Taesongsan Park, usually the setting for May Day dances.

It was the only place in Pyongyang with a suitable expanse of grass

A New Women's Icon Scorching up the Man's World

When a 23-year-old rookie named Danica Patrick became the first woman to lead the Indianapolis 500 three years ago, she raised the tantalizing possibility that in a male-dominated American sport, a woman might for the first time stand in victory lane.

Patrick eventually finished fourth in that race, but she quickly became a phenomenon. Companies embraced her willingness to market her good looks, and babies began emerging from maternity wards with the name Danica. But along with her celebrity came a question: When would she win?

It was answered Sunday in Motegi, Japan, where Patrick, now 26, became the first woman to win an Indy car race. She defeated the two-time Indy 500 winner Hélio Castroneves by nearly six seconds in the Indy Japan 300.

“I feel way too young to be giving life advice, but this is a great platform to have,” Patrick said Sunday night in a telephone interview from Los Angeles, where she had landed after a virtually sleepless flight from Japan. “This reaches outside racing. This is about finding something you love to do, and following through with it.”

Besides saying thanks, Patrick said she was unable to say much more to her crew amid her tears immediately after the race. Back in Los Angeles, she again became emotional when she relived her long road to victory.

“It’s going to be nice not to have to answer those questions anymore,” she said. “They were just so hard to answer, because I believed in myself. I just didn’t know when it was going to happen.”

There was a time when Patrick could not have competed in Sunday’s race. A few years before Janet Guthrie, an aerospace engineer and road racer, became the first woman to qualify for the Indy 500 in 1977, women were not allowed in the press box, the garage area or the pits.

As Guthrie wrote in “Life at Full Throttle,” an account of her career in racing, women were dismissed as lacking the strength, endurance and emotional stability to compete against men. Even a driver with Guthrie’s credentials as a road racer was seen as dangerous.

“A woman might be a reporter, a photographer, a timer/scorer, she might own the race car — but she couldn’t get near it at any time for any reason,” Guthrie wrote. “A woman on the track itself was unthinkable.”

On Sunday, Guthrie showed little surprise at Patrick’s victory.

“Anybody who didn’t think she had a chance of winning just hasn’t been paying attention,” Guthrie, 70, said in a telephone interview from her home in Aspen, Colo. “She’s been in the hunt for a long time. It was just a matter of time, as far as I’m concerned.”

Guthrie then said, “I absolutely hope this will put all of the naysayers to rest.”

For Patrick, the naysayers’ chorus had grown increasingly loud as her winless streak wore on. A year ago, in search of a stronger team, Patrick jumped from the IndyCar Series team co-owned by the talk-show host David Letterman to the team co-owned by Michael Andretti, the former racer who is the son of Mario Andretti.

Michael Andretti said he believed the diminutive Patrick, 5 feet 2 inches and 100 pounds, had the skill and desire to win regularly. He provided her with a powerful race car and with his team’s expertise, which helped her win the race Sunday at Twin Ring Motegi, a mile-and-a-half oval.

When Patrick burst on the racing consciousness three years ago, she brought with her an extensive racing background. Her father was a racer who introduced his daughter to driving at a young age. At 16, Patrick moved to Europe, alone, to compete.

By 2005, the combination of her promise on the track and her willingness to capitalize on her looks — her biography in the 2008 IndyCar Series media guide includes a photograph of her in a white bikini — soon had marketers clamoring for her.

An IndyCar Series official said in 2006 that Patrick’s merchandise outsold that of any other driver, 10 to 1. The series said that the name Danica jumped to No. 352 from No. 610 on the list of most popular baby names from 2005 to 2006.

Before she drove her car to victory lane, she said Sunday night, she was unable to speak because, “it was an indication of how much had been on my mind — how long it had been since the start of my IndyCar career.”

Patrick said her team tried to conserve fuel from the first laps of Sunday’s race. When three drivers running at the front of the pack had to make pit stops for fuel in the final 10 laps of the 200-lap race, she charged into second place, behind Castroneves.

Castroneves had enough fuel to finish the race without making a pit stop, but he had to conserve what little he had. Patrick, who lost the 2005 Indy 500 because she had to stretch her fuel supply, took the lead with two laps left on Sunday and won easily.

“In recognition of Danica’s talents, she did a good job,” Castroneves said in a postrace news conference. “She passed me fair and square. I didn’t have enough fuel, even if I wanted to, to fight with her.”

Next month, Patrick will return to the Indianapolis 500. The competition at this year’s race is expected to be much tougher after a merger in the off-season with Champ Car, another open-wheel racing series.

“I think Danica is such a fantastic person and I’m thrilled for her that the monkey is finally off of her back,” Michael Andretti said after the race. “We have all believed in her, and she proved today that she is a winner. Frankly, I think this is the first of many.”

Another woman on the IndyCar circuit, Sarah Fisher, 27, has formed her own race team. She did not race Sunday in Japan but has said she hopes to drive in the Indy 500, among other races. Fisher said Patrick’s triumph made Sunday a memorable day not only for drivers and open-wheel-racing fans, but for women.

“Today marks the celebration for all of us who have chipped away at the barriers that many women have faced in fields that are dominated by men,” Fisher said in a statement. “To finally have a female win an open-wheel race is simply a progression of what Janet Guthrie started.”
